Can anyone confirm this?
I would have thought any exhaust even without heat wrapping would have had an internal temperature sufficient to ignite petrol coming through the cylinders in unburnt as a result of fuelling on trailing throttle/exhaust cycle. Heat wrapping would insulate the pipe but I can't see how that would affect the result in any way.Carbed vehicles are great for pops and crackles on the overrun. As the throttle closes, venturi effect tends to draw fuel down the jets which makes a very rich mixture, perfects for flashing off in the exhaust.

Pretty much anything on carbs or with a badly calibrated fuel injection system will.
Or correctly calibrated. Depends on perspective Sounds good, burns fuel at an alarming rate though
