Sweden officially reconizes the Palestinian state, Israel recalls their Ambassador.

Wonder how this one will play out.

Up there with the South Africans demanding that goods marked as made in Israel but made in the occupied territories be marked as from the occuppied territories, that sent them off on one.

If they keep that rule going they probably won't have any Ambassadors left by 2015...

The Israeli foreign minister said that Sweden must understand that the situation in middle East is slightly more complex than a piece of Ikea furniture hehe

Lots of countries recognise Palestine and Israel has friendly relations with many of them. So why make a song and dance over Sweden?

Dunno really. I guess they're quite a nice country, all things considered. Diplomatically speaking they do carry a bit of clout as well.

I personally think that a Palestinian state is the way to go; I'm quickly running out of sympathy for Israel.

Be gone or justify your stance....... Trawl through the massive thread to see why Israel can do no wrong!

BTW, Hamas (eg) are scum and terrorists. Let us not forget that there is wrong on both sides?

Anyway, the question is should there be peace? Closely followed by 'can there be peace?'

Reported in news here, so I should think it is true. We need more dry sarcasm and humour in politics smile
