I dont mean to sound like a killjoy but as a pet owner im getting fed up with the fireworks every single night between mid october and mid november.

I understand Diwali and Guy Fawkes etc but those are a few nights and weekends not EVERY SINGLE NIGHT.

I pop the cat out as he wants to go patrol his terratory and within an hour I hear a million fireworks.

I know he doesnt like them as he was found cowering under the missus merc last year. Last night I went and got him. I know his patch so I took a stroll and called him (he behaves like and dog and will come if called) I grabbed him and his heart was racing (more so than a normal cat heartbeat)

Its getting stupid now. Its a months worth of nightly bangs. The missus dads Staffie would hide under the sofa when he was still around.

I cant be the only one who find the 30 days of fireworks tedious.

I know exactly what you mean. I have nothing against the celebrations at all but every night is certainly tedious. It's harder for you cat owners too!

Since we've had him our dog has taken it upon himself to patrol our house and if anyone so near as touches the gate he rushes up to the door or window and barks to let us know. When he hears fireworks, he starts panting and rushing around barking his head off. I feel sorry for both him and the neighbours. The next morning he's just too tired to go for a walk. frown

I'm not sure if it'll help but I picked up some stuff from the pet store which replicates pheromones that a mother would give off to her pups after birth and that apparently calms them down. The fireworks have been quiet for the past 2/3 nights so I haven't had the chance to try it but I'm sure I'll have plenty of time in the coming week.

Haven't had a single one go off near us yet.

Number one dog isn't bothered about fireworks. We took her with us to the local display for the past couple of years. We aren't going this year as we have no idea how our new dog will be with them. Will have to see.

As miserable as I sound, with three cats and four dogs, I feel that fireworks should not be sold to the public but for general displays only.

My better half agrees with you completly. She would only have organised displays miles from houses etc.

Tango was in far too much over the weekend. From 5ish the noises started. Luckily he likes our bedroom and 6music.
