Current Light Recommendations

I remember there being a thread, maybe last winter, which basically answered every questions you could really have for picking up very good lighting for a small cost. With this in mind, what are this years recommendations? Are Cree still the company to go for? Is there anything better on the market?

Cree is a term for the LED. I have two of them and this time am going for a much more expensive UK brand. The Chinese lanterns are good value but I have found battery life and quality of various things aren't ideal.

CandB-Seen lights.

My lights are into their 3rd winter now. My original battery still lasts about 3/4 of the time it did when new and I commute every day, about 2 hrs use on the lights.

Plus, their customer service is excellent. Everything guaranteed and if you do have a problem, it's mornally dealt with on the same day. (A chap I work with had a prblem with a rear light where one of the flashing modes went wrong and he had a new light within 48 hrs of contacting them)

Depends how deep your pockets are, i think theres close to a 50/50 split on cree/exposure within the forums 2 very different price scales

C and B Seen look like they are the same as the Ebay Cree XML specials, they just charge twice the price and put their name on them?

I bought mine from ukcarpartspro on ebay and they have been great so far, for £20 I dont think you can go wrong and you can just get two and have a spare if you are that concerned. Having a battery pack is a bit of a pain but you can just stick it in a saddle bag and run some reuseable zip ties on the top tube. Having used them recently, I am not going back to AA/AAA powered lights again for the front

I've got one of the £20 jobs off eBay and so far it's been brilliant. It's exceptionally bright, far in excess of the expensive cat eye light. It's got high and low power and a flash, I wish it had a low power flash.
Its got completely soaked enough to pour water out of the battery pack which is only shrink wrap and verty cheap looking.
On the whole recommended for the money
