Fair?

It's undeniably stupid, but she's been hammered far more than any drink driver ever gets sentenced to.

I think you'll find that's not true.

Still seems a bit OTT though. I don't really see how what they did was hugely dangerous to anyone except themselves.

I'm guessing there is a lot more to this story than is reported in that article, yes its a silly prank, but honestly I can't see it as much more than that.

Except she hasn't though, has she. You can't just say stuff and make it so.

This sort of thing is indicative of someone who is generally a menace. A waste of blood and organs. It's not so much that she chose to do it, it's that she chose to do it in a supermarket carpark full of both people and CCTV cameras. It shows a level of decision making right up there with the very worst imaginable. If you're going to do it (and it looks like fun, although I'd want a longer rope), do it where you're not going to hurt anyone and, more importantly, you're not going to get caught.

With inability to realise something so startlingly obvious, how much use can she be at work? Clearly, she can't, which means she's either dole scum, or she's a pain in the arse for those forced to work with her and those who rely upon her to do a good job.

Simon.

These things always have a habit of the news story is missing some major fact or something like that.

What they are doing is stupid, but a 2 year ban is completely out of proportion to other motoring crimes. IMO, someone caught speeding past a school in a 4x4 at school kick out time (30 in a 20) is far more dangerous than some idiot driving around what seems to be an empty car park at night with someone in a wheelchair on the back. But instead they have to go sit in a course for 4 hours and that's it.

Crazy I've done several more dangerous things this week alone.

Does seem a bit excessive..

Never mind the drink-drive comparison, but surely just a bking from the police and a Section 59 notice would be enough rather than the cost of taking this through the courts?? Sense of humour failure IMHO..

After all it took place in a fairly empty car park, and while it was a bit stupid no-one was really put at risk other than one of the participants who took part willingly.

I 'may' have seen a video on somebodys FB page of them towing somebody in an inner tube on the snow behind their Range Rover. It 'may' have been on a (deserted) public road biggrin

Just to play an advocate of the Devil for a moment, but what if she had inadvertently left something hanging out of the boot of her car, like a coat, handbag strap or, in this case, a towel, and someone in a wheelchair grabbed hold of it while she was driving around looking for a space? He looks to be quite close to the back of the car, which has a high rear window line, so it might not be possible to tell

Should bus and truck drivers be banned when a skateboarder grabs hold of something while they're about to drive off

If it was on a proper road fair enough, extremely stupid. But at what was probably 10mph round a car park - a little harsh I think.

Anecdotally (which I know doesn't count for much), that is a harsher sentence than one person I know got caught drink driving.

I don't know if I can comment on whether the sentence is harsh or not as I did find the offence mildly amusing.

What about the TG episode where Clarkson got towed on his skis?

Blimey!

Is that really representative of the behavior of those at Le Mans camp sites?

It's still a road.

Do we know her driving history? She may have previous for being an idiot.

Maybe not, I've mentioned a few times on here about my friend getting 18months ban with extended re-test, 150hours community service and £80 fine for sliding around an empty car park with Mcdonalds trays under his rear wheels and his handbrake on. He's a right fairy too so I believe him when he says he didn't go above 15 hehe

"as astonished shoppers looked on." This is probably the least true part of the article, astonished, they probably found it amusing.

If so I might actually go next year. I didn't see stupid dangerous fun, just normal healthy fun.
