heater climate control help needed

Got in car to come home from work and heater playing up, anyone had this before.

soon as you start the car you can adjust any settings you want but 30 seconds later the system seems to go into a preset configuration and then not allowing any functions of any buttons, just stays on same pre set setting.
no de mist no rear window demist etc.

on a 97 vxr8.

looked in manual and nothing there, hope someone can help

Pull off the infotainment panel and clean the contacts.

Dead easy - you just need to be brave.

Hope you meant '07 VXR8

But as Mik says, the connections and the hazard switch are the only 'easily' fixable items as the whole front panel is one piece.
