Guys, any advice is welcomed....

Just got a v70 estate (petrol), car is a one owner from new and its immaculate, the only known faults are:

1 Internal phone wont recognise the sim
2 The Sat nav screen wont come up - although that may be my inexperience!!

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Jason

Sat Nav should pop up with the ignition in position II when you press "Enter" on the steering wheel controls - might need a solid push if the button is old

The phone, IIRC, will only accept a 2G capable SIM card, so if you're with 3 (who have 3G only cards) it won't work - I think this is the case, will have to check though...

There is a fuse in the box on the end of the dash for the sat nav screen motor. Someone had pulled it on mine and sold the car as having no sat nav as the unit in the boot was broken. I put in the fuse and had the box refurbed for £200 or so and it's been fine for 3 - 4 years now. Early cars had a CD based system that I wouldn't bother fixing, but the DVD system can be handy to have.

If you have no luck with your ordered SIM I'm using a Sainsbury's Mobile one in mine, you can pick them up for a quid in any larger store I think smile

There is a miniscule chance that a new disc will fix it, or a go with a cleaning disc but it'll probably need a refurb. There seems to be a common problem with them. This chap is sound
