For what reason(s) would cause my rear passenger side wheel to have a -5 degrees camber spec is -1.7 ishh to -2.7 I've only just seen the wheel toeing in at the top a lot more than drivers side rear

The tyre is wearing/shaping in an odd fashion looking at the tyre with a ruler across the tread it's higher from the inside than the outside and from centre of tyre to outside it gradually has started to wear off more the ruler slopes across top quiet a lot, there is also a dark black line about 5 mm wide all around the very inside edge right were the tread ends and moulds round to the side wall it's no a wear line it's like dust it rubs off easy but still see the line .could these be important visual signs on the tyre to what's gone wrong

Sounds alarming. Just get it checked out, we can speculate all we like but we can't see the car and regardless of what the cause is, 5 degrees of negative camber is not going to be good for the tyre and running with uneven camber across the axle will upset handling and braking and coule well be unsafe.

I imagine something is bent under there and will need replacing and geometry re-setting.

Thank you for you reply I've only had this motor 6 weeks bought from franchise dealer, I've got numerous issues regarding knocking steering rack, whining gearbox, heavy droning noise ( bearings? ) from both front wheels, st braking lot of travel on pedal ,also pulling on steering to passenger side, what I have noticed is a small link bar that's joined from axle to hub and where it's fixed nearest to wheel side the bush like bar isn't sat square on and even on bush it's twisting could that be the culprit

That sounds bleeding miserable, have you approached the vendor to see what they're prepared to do about all of these faults?

Yes I have 5 times and all they say is there's nothing wrong keep driving it , it's still under volvo warranty the problem is the warranty will only payout if it totally dismisses the car I addressed half of the problems on test drive but pulled wool over my eyes

Sounds like it's had a hard life of pounding over speed bumps or pot holes!

The rear camber has to be either a bent arm, a knackered bush or an utterly mullered bearing, but I would guess the thing would be undriveable!

Clonking steering could be front ball joint too.
