Footage from a recent "accident" at Cadwell in the MSVT Team Trophy, it's been mentioned on another thread but I thought it deserved one of it's own frown .

Do people really forget that they are just taking part in a hobby, having fun at the weekend etc?

That's pretty horrific. Did the Porsche get away with it unscathed?

I expected the worst when I watched the vid.
Clio stood up to that incredibly well.

Other guy shouldn't race again. Inexcusable.

Yes they do. Most people wouldn't. But some people are genuinely tiny penised and do these things to prove they are the big man, and will win at all costs whatever they do blah blah blah

Wow the worst bit of track driving I have ever seen needs licence revoked and a damn good kicking and then made to pay for a new car the guy he pushed into the pit wall, shocking and horrendous.

What was the drivers name, let's organise a public lynching.

Porsche looks to be barely under control. Lots of lurching around all over the track.

He got 6 points and excluded from the race. The 1 hour race was finished as a result of the accident because of extensive repairs needed to the barrier. I race a VX220 (plastic body, ally chassis) in the same series, if he'd done it to me I would have been seriously injured or worse. I've probably got to race against him at Brands on 22/23 Nov, great!!

6 points is not the right answer in fact the clerk of the course should also be in trouble if they think 6 points was appropriate.

I the guy had 6 points he was actually excluded from the meeting not just the race. This is really the highest penalty that the clerk can impose, only the stewards or MSA can remove a licence. I think this should have been handed to the stewards and suspended for 30 days (the most they can do) and then referred to the MSA for review who should then ban him for life.

Its stuff like this that really puts me off doing Team Trophy and other similar series. Its is be oming more and more prevalent in club racing and the MSA need to act to stamp it out.

People see it happening in the Touring Cars and think its ok. Putting people's lives at risk is NEVER ok! And for what???? This is a fking hobby! frown

Awful driving. Especially as he was weaving away the lap before.

To the guy in the VX racing against him later this month - tell the organiser you won't be entering if they accept his entry?

It wasn't deliberate though was it? He was just taking the normal line.

That track looks so narrow, just stay in the middle and the other guy has to put wheels on the grass.

Its obvious its deliberate, he doesnt stay in the middle, he changes course deliberately to hit the Clio. I daresay he didnt intend to punt him into the sharp end of the pit wall but he certainly intended to hit him probably with the knowledge he had the much heavier car. I've been down that section three abreast, its tight but if no one acts like a cock and races in the right way its fine.

Andy spoke with RPM when at Cadwell and apparently they aren't doing any more this season. Bit of a relief for all of us I think you'll agree.

I've been doing TT since the year it started and I've never seen anything like this before in the series. Driving standards are normally sound, and there's strong camaraderie amongst fast and safe drivers: the driver of the Clio being a prime example. So this isn't a reflection of the general driving standards in TT, but merely an example of unacceptable driving standards or - to be generous in the extreme - an appallingly poor spur of the moment decision from an individual (for which he must now surely be filled with remorse).
There are examples of this across all types of racing eg the MR-2 flying over the fence at Brands, the Radical skidding off towards the marshalls under double yellows, etc). When I got punted off in a similar fashion in a different series the driver neither apologised to me, nor offered to contribute anything towards my replacement car. At least if the driver offered to help get the Clio driver back on track it would go some way towards improving his reputation, and be in keeping with what is a very friendly, high quality race series.

has the knob had his say about what happened? "Soz bruv, I didn't see ya", "yes I have no dick" or something more reasonable (not that I can think of anything reasonable that would excuse this...)
