Of course you can. Sell it to yourself and OH as practical transport for the upcoming weather!
Good idea I will report back tomorrow on my result crossing fingers now.

On a different note the last 4x4 I had was a pajero the night before a holiday to Cornwall I was tempted into some green lane fun by my so called friends;) Que one knackerd tyre bent side steps and a tow bar facing the sky it was tense feeling on the way there.

Whoops, did some damage then. I try to be cautious on the green lanes, although I'm always aware I can damage a tyre. Hence carrying a spare, and having a full set at home to swap onto in that case.

I should hope I don't damage anythign else too much

Update time. As I no longer work weekends, I thought I would take full advantage and use the workshop behind my showroom to start playing with the Landrover.

Getting organised

Template up!

Point of no return!!!

Then got on with fitting the lightbar, and the bush cables. Only two of my lights turned up in time, the other two will hopefully rock up on Monday. They I just need to feed the wire up to them. Switch and relay already done! Starting to look a bit more offroader like!

Ah the eBay disco v8! I bought mine blind, for £500. After a large amount of welding and plating, its not bad. Just need to cure an unknown rattle.

Rich, thats a bloody great looking truck!! Very nice. Jealous here.

Last weekend saw its first proper laning session, it did pretty well to be fair

And then today, I finished work at 1pm, and popped down the road to pick up some tyres and wheels! Ive trimmed the rear, but need to do some adjustments on the front, it catches on half lock, badly!!

Looks great. Very purposeful.
I really want to do some laning. Been talking to a few locals that do it round my way and may meet up with them.

I've got all the gear with no idea lol.
Is yours dog slow? If I put my foot down, it feels like it doesn't really do anything.

Argh, I've been eyeing up rangies/discos for the past couple of weeks as a few of my friends have been posting photos of themselves at a pay and play site, now this thread has popped up and I've shortlisted a couple. Going to phone my insurance and see how much they want to add one to my policy next week, the internet is a bad influence on me irked

The insurance isn't much. Rich12, is yours LPG? Mine struggles to pull a bit in 5th on LPG, but on Petrol its pokey. I changed all the leads and plugs last weekend too, which has made a huge difference. All I have to do now is fit a new coil. THese are really fussy on their ignition systems.

No mines just petrol.

The previous owner has changed the cap but not the leads as far as I know. It can't be that Slow so must be an issue somewhere!!

60 should be around 10 seconds believe it or not. So yer, check your leads (I changed mine out of habit, and my god the difference) and change your plugs. Think it was £43 quid for leads and plugs on mine, the difference is night and day.

THe the coil is worth it, also check your distributer. I may do that this year, it may wait until after new year. Just been at it with an angle grinder again, oops

Allowing the wheels to move in the archs a bit more. Front bumper corners have gone too.

Just ordered some Flatdog arches, so the arches will get a proper cut later in the week. My neighbours have decided Im insane, outside with the angle grinder in short and t-shirt, in the rain, cursing at it!

Don't know if its any good but the thing on the front of mine is cool and made out of metal so very solid. Much smaller than a normal bumper too.

Nice winch bumper. I may do soon, but not until after a lift with hd springs. The weight all adds up

Good stuff, needs the 2" lift though!

I had one, was going to keep it standard but it inevitably ended up with 265/75 tyres and a 2" lift. Even in road trim its amazing where they can go! I killed mine in a puddle (read as lake depths!), changed the engine but it was never the same. At least yours shouldn't suffer the same fate!

Well I went to the pub frown

It appears a 2" full lift kit with all the necessaries from Island 4x4 is on the way! Drinking gets expensive, I work it to be around £300 a pint!!!
