Crack testing a waste of money ?
Discussion
Oh NO it most certainly is not. I had a bit of a shunt in my last race of the season which took out the front lower arm and various other bits, after dropping down to earth from a height . So I sent the stub axle/hub and upright off to be crack tested just in case and as a precaution ( thank you G). I send the stub axles off for crack testing every year at the end of the season any way and they always come back ok...............until this time when the stub axle has been cracked in the force of the shunt. I'm glad I do send them off every year but some times I think why bother they will be ok. So lesson learned don't short cut on crack testing as it won't be pleasant having your wheel fall off. Just ask Andy Race how much the laundry bill is.
I was just wondering how do they generally get cracked, bashing up kerbs I would think. Does any one know a source of pre Glebe Engineering hubs. I assume they are Granny Scorpio ?

Gentlemen, I have just had two of my hubs fail testing (probably due to my crap driving at Oulton!). Please could somebody tell me where to look for some new ones.
Thanks,
Matt
Sorry to read this ...JR sorted a replacement for the one that failed and built my front hubs....Thanks,
Matt
Good luck with it....
