Saddens me the football gravy train that rewards failure at every level - not many industries do that , the guys who award the contracts do it on the basis they enjoy similar "perks" and the gravy train continues.
How can it be right that you can't afford to sack a failing worker
Been sayin this for years! MadnessHow can it be right that you can't afford to sack a failing worker
Should be caveats in there contracts

But then this is the nature of the beast. Had he won the PL last season and Barcelona had come calling then that contract is our only piece of defence in getting some compensation. Can't have it both ways, especially when these contracts will be penned/overseen by lawyers probably making the same sort of salaries as BR!

Yeah Paul was ready to kill himself the other day when he wrote that, but it balanced, unlike many others. The reality is that as BR can't take all the flack. He didn't want Balo, said as much, be we signed him.
He wanted Williams at centre back to provide leadership, instead we got Sakhon.Migonlet wasn't first choice, he wanted keep who can kick the ball.
(although he had the perfect keeper in Renia for this - sold on the cheap)
That all said he does shoulder some blame, and certainly could keep his gob shut a bit more.

Funny old world aint it - we've been mediocre for so long, BR comes in and gives us a taste above our station and when it cant be maintained and we return to mediocrity we want to burn him

I can't stand him. Wonder what'll happen if Stoke beat us at the weekend? How long can this be allowed to continue? He hasn't got the bottle to drop Gerrard. At least that would have us not being over run by the likes of Palace.
Why cant you stand him? Putting aside the current slump, he did take us to a point that none of us have seen (2005 apart) in the last 20+ years.Pommygranite said:

Not sure about not standing him RT, Im sure he is a good crack on a night out all those tales to tell of daring and insight. Sys observation that we cant afford to sack him is sadly very true, we may be able to financially afford to but within the FFP it may well have a detrimental effect.
Sooooo Wednesday then, two things will happen, we will win after the players are galvanised after the press accusing them of being the worst performing team in years (I wish Djimi would go on record as saying that, and Phil Babb slating Lovren would be class) and tear Ludo a new goal net or will we capitulate in the belief the fat lady is nearly singing and they are close to getting a new boss that I can only assume most of them want - if this is the case Bren must have really pissed them off and not just the Real Madrid game it must be other stuff as well, having favourites maybe, being too close to certain failing players maybe etc etc.
From the very very high to the very very low in less than a year - Christ.

Putting aside the current slump, he did take us to a point that none of us have seen (2005 apart) in the last 20+ years. As for why I can't stand him, because I think he is a fraud, making it up as he is going along at best. The bks that comes out of his mouth, his 3 envelopes, his weak leadership and his closeness with some players all factor in too. Probably what I dislike off pitch the most is the lifestyle he represents. If he was successful he'd get away with it, but he isn't.
All of that is before his complete tactical ineptness on the football pitch. Last season was the blip. This is the real Brendan Rodgers. Weak defence, sideways passing midfield and a front line of strikers that are 75% low table turd.
He's had his moment in the sun. Last season was the pinnacle of his career. Get rid of him and give someone the rest of this season to rebuild and push on from there. Rafa, Klopp or Simone have forgotten more than Bodge has ever known or ever will know.

That sums my feelings up as we struggle on week after week with no change. No sign of improvement and these things bug me more and more.RedTrident said:

Frankly our players have been shocking this year and deserve as much criticism as BR.
