Somewhat encouraging I suppose, hope Henry is there too

Not sure why we sent him out on loan - or why we bought Markovic and then sent him out on loan. Surely he'd be breaking into the first team by now.

TBH playing for a team leading the championship or 2nd has probably brought him on loads - playing for us every now and then would have not been better for him

He will be with us either next or year after I imagine - better for them to have game time in a tough league.

Next year will be quite exciting to have a front line of him, Sterling and Origi!

Quick but completely raw and not ready for the premiership as a unit.

OK, so add in Sturridge when he's fit.

Let's hope Balotelli isn't here next season.

There is a fair chance he will be though if BR is still in charge because he wants to be the manager that finally gets the best out of him which only adds to how deluded he is and Jose couldn't get the best from him so I am still not sure who can.

Cherrys will be an interesting match, they score for fun and can't defend - we can't score and can't defend, I see Bren picking some weird formation and really coming unstuck unfortunately - hope not

Yeah completely agree however my feeling is this. If you buy a big name, proven, he will cost you maybe £10-15m more than a Markovic or a Lallana, there is no better chance that he may fail but surely there is a greater chance that he will succeed rather than buying two potentials like Liverpool have done. Surely there is less risk in buying quality than potential and a much better chance they will succeed and when you effectively shelling out the same or slightly more money.
Like Soldado? biggrin

I can see us getting tonked tonight.

They're unbeaten in 12 or something aren't they? Scoring for fun, we're all over the place.

Worried.

Post match

...I thought we needed to get back to our strengths with a more technical team so I decided to go with our version of a midfield diamond with a deep playmaker, but with wing backs and keep that solid defensive shape we've developed in recent games with three at the back with a sweeper. We've honed these systems but tonight I introduced the three false number 9's in there. I thought it worked well for 30 minutes until, young Raheem I thought was outstanding as a sweeper......

Does this prat ever shut up:

"Rodgers optimistic to make top four

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says that he is still confident that the club can have a strong run in the Premier League, as well as the cup competitions that they are involved in."

If we lose tonight he will be a laughing stock - he just loves his own voice

My boss is a Bournemouth season ticket holder and he is not sure how they will play things tonight.
They don't need the money and have a rich Russian owner, but the owner is at the game with a load of his mates tonight so depends whether he wants to impress his mates with a win or concentrate on the league - which is the priority.. So either lots of changes or none - they won 5-3 on sat

As for us, you could make a lot of money predicting the team every week...

GJ being out could be a blessing in disguise, really hope he plays Can and a 442 with Mario and Borini. whatever the issue with Borini, all will be forgiven if he plays well and works hard. Maybe Lallana plays a whole game. Hope we don't go to extra time or pens.

Don't think they will play him. Think they are trying to force him out over Jan after losing £14m fee during the summer window. Borini who will always protect the man and player he is, may just sit out his remaining years in the reserves, until his contract winds down.

Mario has a groin injury so won't be playing tonight.
Just hope we play with great character tonight. Whatever score it is I just hope we show great character.
