Competition Car Build Regulations/Requirements In NZ

Morning all......well its evening here in the UK

I am after a bit of information regarding competition cars in New Zealand and how they differ from here in the UK. Myself and my partner are emigrating next year and I would like to bring my car over "Built for tarmac hill climbs and sprints". It is currently built to uk MSA regulations running in modified production classes. So what regulations are your cars built to when competing, we have the MSA blue book which contains all the information for build requirements. I would appreciate any information you have or where I can look to obtain information.

Their website lists some names and phone numbers for technical enquiries - the guys there are knowledgeable and helpful and you'll probably save yourself a bit of keyboard time by picking up the phone and having a chat.

Agreed, give them a call, Terry at MSNZ was very helpful when I did the same. Competition logbooks are still required here and I understand that they are pretty much online only in the UK now so if you can bring printouts of what you have, particularly roll cage certificates, that will speed your transition. MSNZ is affiliated to FIA in the same way as MSUK is so pretty much the same rules. Another item you will need, if like me you are on a UK passport, is that you will need to apply to MSUK for permission to apply for a MSNZ competition licence. Seems like nobody at FIA heard of the "bosman ruling" . Anyway, MSNZ won't issue a licence without MSUK's, or your country of citizenships governing body's permission. Easiest to do that before you leave.

Cheers chaps that is great info. If I progressed into a more heavier form of competition is it therefore possible to get the car assessed and log booked in NZ to more hefty regs as currently I run only a national B license for local club events. I will have to put a bit of a list together on email and send it over to MSNZ, I will let you know how I get on.
