Did you get laid?
Restaurants..
Rivington do a good steak and chips and a not too bad bottle of red to wash it down. (Vaguely remember having my pants pulled down on the price of the red though..)
BBC does a pretty reasonable steak tartare and chips and a variety of different beers to wash it down.
Butcher Shop and Grill in city walk was soso, but no red or beer so gone down a little in the rankings.
Heard about this new fangled dieting and health food and vegetables and so on, but not having any truck with that..

the rivington was very disappointing for me, didn't rate the steak at all.
been tempted by steak tartare lately. something i've always wanted to try but haven't due to the perceived quality of the establishment.
any tartare fans here recommend me the best in town?
I thought the Rivington was pretty good, though perhaps not worth the money as without an entertainer voucher the second time I went it was pricey..been tempted by steak tartare lately. something i've always wanted to try but haven't due to the perceived quality of the establishment.

I used to eat steak tartare regularly when I worked in Paris and the BBC is not bad at all. Not the best I've had, but they do the proper egg thing and overall the side effects of going there are usually more beer related Madinat is my preferred option as you can sit outside and get some air. Give me a buzz if you fancy heading there sometime; last I heard you were stuck in some godforsaken jungle..
Rivington as mentioned is ok with the entertainer voucher but not at full price.
Rib Room at Emirates towers is the only steak ive had this year that was actually very impressed by, meat co at Madinat is hit and miss and was particularly ill after the last visit their.
Dhow and anchor have got the fish and chips bang on recently though, well worth a visit and in the entertainer too.

Glad you put it so bluntly! But yes agree, friends keep booking it for birthdays and visits of family, been 3 times this year, once was o.k, once was pants and the last time as mentioned was ill. Entertainers ran out for it though so wont be visiting again. Some sadly non-booze options. Eat Greek at the Beach/JBR is very good, great food and service - the Half Lamb, Half Beef burger is very tasty as are all of the other more traditional dishes I've tried there. If you want a proper Italian, Cucina Mia in the building opposite the Royal Meridian Hotel at the end of JBR Walk (Trident?) is also excellent and pretty light on the wallet.
I also had a pretty forgetful meal at the Rivington @ JM. Granted we had a big group of people (12) but the food was pretty bad and only half of it turned up in one go. One person's meal only arrived after everyone else had finished. What was served was pretty 2nd rate.

Had dinner last Friday night at Prime in the Meydan Hotel.... although we were the only people in there it still took nearly 45 minutes for our mains to arrive..... they were well well worth it though, fantasic steak, great sides (the creamed spinach was the best we've tasted in Dubai) and the service was very professional as well.
I'd go back with no issues.

Not been there myself, but it was just recommended to me by someone from Rome I was working with last week.. Having compared it to a couple of places we both knew in that city, I'm expecting it to be pretty good..Edited by TNW on Sunday 23 November 17:54
