Had the odd sideways moment on public roads. Have had a range of reactions from a woman driver looking at me in digust to a white van man giving me a thumbs up

What do people / other road users think when they see BMW E30 3 Series which looks OEM going sideways in the wet :-) ?

I followed a red e30 round Milton Keynes a while ago in the rain, he was tail sliding off all the roundabouts - great control but it was very busy morning rush hour and probably not the best of times to be doing it. I thought it was cool, appreciate following a well controlled car but I'm sure most would think 'idiot about to crash'..

Depends whether you are heading towards them, wide eyed, sawing at the wheel or it looks intentional and well controlled.

I'm all for a bit of hoonigan action.. but if you're doing it on the road, in amongst other traffic, then afraid it's a thumbs down from me. No-one will look at you and think "Cool!" - they'll just think "Prat".

Just a standard second hand BMW LSD but I got fully rebuilt 40% lock 3.91 2-way

As standard mine would have had 25% lock 3.64 2-way

If you are heading towards me while going sideways "They need locking up".

If on a track in a well controlled drift "Top Marks"

most of the time people shake their head

Its a bit over zealous and if it all goes tits up I think you would have a hard time explaining how everyone else managed to stay on that piece of road that day, however mr e30 drifter managed to park it in a hedge/lamppost/ roundabout/ other car.

Rear end out doesnt mean you're making any faster progress, I like to see cars driven fast and without danger or risk to others - drifting on a closed road etc is great to watch but its not the done thing on the public highway unless you are a "boy" racer.

1% will give you a thumbs up, 99% will become hostile witnesses if it goes wrong.
