It will be cheaper in the long run to trade it in and buy a supercharged version.

You wont get significantly more power from a different exhaust. Just more noise.

Don't see the point in trying to tune the 1.6 when there are so many quicker Elises available to buy. Exhaust and induction will give you a nicer noise, but not a great deal else.

It's not difficult to improve on the OEM manifold. It's a really small bore 4-1 feeding a very large bore Cat pipe.
A proper 4-2-1 + 200cell Cat will give you 15bhp + 12ft/lbs torque - and that's without any mapping.

I would just get an SC. They are wonderful cars and have all the power you'd ever need. 1.6s are quite popular so you'd have no trouble getting a half decent PX price or selling. I've just sold a beautiful Club Racer SC. I posted on here a couple of weeks back I was in a dilemma over keeping that one its such a nice car!

enjoy your new car first before upgrading. The 1.6 is very fast in the dry on public roads (with bends).
On the dual carriageways, relax and cruise, it's not the fun bit.
They do better with no passenger, no luggage and better manifold & exhaust.
Enjoy, then browse the classifieds for an S.

I love my 1.6, it's just fast enough on country lanes without the stupid power of the sc. my advice, fill it with v power, it definitely makes a difference in this car. I can't stress this enough!

Mine has a trd air box and 2bular zorst so it sounds great and pops and bangs loads.

The 2bular manifold is a worthy addition aswell, 155hp with the 6spd box would make the car feel properly quick

Do TRD do an airbox for the 1.6? These are a great addition on the other Toyota cars.

they do, its the same air box on all toyota cars, mine has one on. Lotus silverstone will do a supply and fit job if you're not confidant in doing it yourself.

sounds great and definitely improves throttle response

The best money you can spend is on yourself, driver training

Please don't take this as an insult I've learned the hard way on a few occasions and it's advice that I'd wished I'd taken earlier

I've spent in excess of 6k on driver training since passing my test and I'd now say I'm Ok
