So the pre-ordered Pocher 1/8 Lamborghini Roadster has been dispatched and will be with me very soon.
Was hoping to hear from someone who is also building a roadster or a coupe it would be good to exchange ideas and views on upgrades.

It's a lot of money for a model and it will probably take quite some time to build it. I hope you will be giving a regular update on the build with some photos if possible. Is the body in a finished colour or will you be doing that yourself?

Good luck!

Over 800 parts and metal body is painted, all the reports say the quality is very high the previous kits were for the coupe and this new release will have a few modifications I will be also adding some further detail build time could be 40 hours without any upgrades or finer detail

It looks a great quality out of the box end product,
but as somebody who has struggled in the past with the dreadful vagaries
of a 'classic' Pocher kit which took forever to get an acceptable result,
£500 for 40 hours of kit building entertainment (that's £12.50 per hour) sounds like dreadful value sillywink.

But remember you do have an end result which will make a fantastic centre piece and the finished kit does have a value!

Do they really go for that when built?

About £1000 for a few hours of pretty much LEGO style assembly? It's almost worth considering...

That's the asking price, but it's only worth what someone is willing to pay.

A red one, built and in a display case, and with its original box sold in auction this week for ............. £200.

That's more like what I'd expect. TBH it looks a fairly bland kit with little need for any real modelling skill, of a car without much scope for intricate detail. Nothing like, say, an old Pocher Alfa Romeo Monza.

HI Paul

I just picked up the Roadster. I don't the time just yet to start building it but I am hoping to start in a month or two. I had a quick check over and one of the doors has a big chip out of it so I am just waiting to hear from Pocher which is annoying

There is a few people on this forum making them http://www.partworkmodels.co.uk/phpBB3/viewforum.p...

Are there any good quality alternatives to these large scale, highly detailed kits from Pocher out there? I'd like something nice to build during those dark, cold winter evenings and prefer metal parts which screw/bolt together, rather than glueing and painting plastic parts.
