Had a good day at the show yesterday, despite the traffic being ste getting there and the OH missing her ride as a result.

The H2R was suitably raucous. The new R1 I really wasn't sold on. The KTM RC390 is a lovely little thing. I still want a GS Adventure.

And I really want an Ariel Ace. Just bloody lovely cloud9

The OH loved at and is proper keen on doing her test and getting a bike, and after sitting on lots (and I mean lots) of bikes has moved away from wanting a Harley/Cruiser type thing to loving sports bikes. Which is nice.

First day of the show and many of the retailers only had fat arse sizes in stock.
That doesn't bode well for me, hopefully they get it together by Wednesday.

Those of you who have been, I take it no sign of any Husquvarnas? They're not listed as exhibitors and I guess they're not lumped in with KTM? Really wanted to see the 401 concepts in the flesh frown

Went yesterday so just a few thoughts.

The H2R is as utterly mental and spectacular as pics suggest. It sounds incredible and looks like something truly revolutionary. Same is true of the new R1, pictures don't do it justice. Incredible. If you can stop yourself thinking 'catfish' when looking at it that is. Future iconic design though IMO. S1000RR facelift is not hugely different, but still a great machine.

Ducati's Multistrada facelift looks great, little more purposeful than the old model. BMW's S1000XR though was a real disappointment. Bland looks, a seat that seems to tip you forward constantly and no real passion conveyed in the design was a shame. Could and should have been spectacular. Same could be said of the new R1200R. The old model really had something about it, this one is smaller, cheaper feeling and utterly dull. Plus no telelever front suspension. The R1200RS though looked and felt great. If could afford one would have put an order in to replace my R1100RS.

My Dad was very taken with Indian's offerings (despite not being a cruiser guy), the Scout and the Roadmaster are beautiful. Finish, materials used and paint finish puts Harley to shame. Victory looks like the poor relation of both.

Weirdly though, bike of the show for me was the humble Yam XJR1300. They've put a new mini-fairing on the front, given it a cafe-style rear and it looks brilliant.

Funnily enough, I took nearly the same photos as you of the XJR, looked stunning from those angles. Makes me miss my old one... Wish I hadn't sold it now.

May be in with BMW? I know a few of the BMW dealers also sell Huskys?

Indian are making Harley and Victory look a bit weak.

It is little surpise Suzuki have lost a huge amount of market share.
There was Nothing new on their stand worth taking pics of, a couple of interesting specials though.

I thought the Yamaha stand was the best of the big brands. This years models look great , MT09 and xj1300 especially.

Great to see EBR back. Not 100% sure on the bikes (I think my XB looks smarter ;-) .)

Some nice custom bikes on various stands.

Overall I was a bit disapointed with the show. Although I can't really put my finger on it. I thought the stalls were too crammed in. And Nothing much going on, (Not sure what I expected). Food was crap also. To be fair I'm not in the market for a new bike so maybe that's why.
