Hi, can anyone tell me what a dual mass flywheel clutch is compared to a normal clutch. Thanks.

You mean a dual mass flywheel - the clutch used is like any other.

This isn't a bad explanation: http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/dual-mass-flywheel...

Clutch centre plates for DMF systems tend to use a significantly different plate, as they may not be required to be "sprung" themselves (or the springing is of a very dofferent rate, unlike plates for solid flywheels where protection against drivetrain torsional shock has to be done in the clutch plate.

Right, what you need to do is get a computer. Any modern pc will do. Then you have to get online with an ISP but that's easy enough to arrange. Then the big trick is this thing called Google you can subscribe to. It's only about a fiver a month so not bad value and then you can type in simple questions and it'll answer them for you and save people with better things to do on forums wasting their time!

LOL @ Puma! Having a bad day??

(BTW, if everyone looked everything up on Google, we wouldn't need a PH forum! And generally, if you don't want to give advice, it's quicker to just give no advice, in fact, don't even both reading the OPs post, rather than spend ages typing out a reply to just moan......)

How would I not bother to read the OP's post until I'd actually read the OP's post to know what it said and if there was anything interesting in it?

I got a call from the garage while I was at work telling me the problem with my car was the dual mass flywheel. I'd never heard of one of these before so thanks for the quick replies. I only get limited internet access on my phone at work, unlike some people, "Puma", who get to sit in front of a computer all day, making out they're looking for jobs when they're actually looking at porn, whilst munching on Wotsits. That job centre is gonna throw you out one of these days!

(and he wonders why his nob's turned orange....!)
