Hi All
A strange question it may seem, how do you get one of these to go into drive it is an auto 4 litre, problem was my son just bought it went away to work and the battery went flat with standing. I have taken battery off charged it and refitted today started first turn but when I tried to put it in to drive it wouldn't go. There is a button on the side that I assume you push in, it wouldn't budge. When I got home I wondered if you maybe have to put your foot on the brake ... would this be right. Problem is vehicle is 25 miles away from me
Any help appreciated
Thanks

What year/model number is it?

I've a 2003 WJ albeit the V8, it should move easily into drive. Any noises?

Does it move at all, if you move into 1st manually?

There's like a trigger button on the front of the gear stick you have to squeeze it to select drive/park/reverse.

I have an S Reg 4.0 ZJ off roader.

There is NO over-drive button on the gear lever its by the light switch so no need to worry.

Foot on Brake is a MUST
Press button on the SIDE of the gear lever and it will slide into Drive.

Simples.

Without foot on brake the lever will not more at all.

There IS a over drive button on side of gear stick on wj's.

On wj the button to change gear is a trigger button at front of the stick.

OP Said its an S Reg - Therefore a ZJ not a WJ I would have thought.
