If this tweet is correct, and Adam is usually not given to speculation, this could get really serious:

Re the RBR wing flaps, I'm told the FIA discovered a leaf spring arrangement encased in a rubber shroud

I think it was Irvine who said, "there is Senna, Schumacher and Newey". Or something like that.

As you say unless Vettel thrashes Kimi, Vettel's legacy will be that of a journey man. Ricci has already seen to half of that. Sadly Webber doesn't compare too well now, but people seem to like him.
I think Webber would have been equal/ slightly better than Vettel this season. Very different type of car, and you saw they were pretty equal until the downforce started working fully for Vettel.
I quite agree.

Of all the things Rosberg has said and done, I don't see anything wrong with this. Asked a question, he honestly replies that he'd prefer a bit of a buffer between him and his championship rival. Why not? It's true, understandable, and was nearly on the cards. It's not like he said "well, it would have been better for me if Lewis had spun off in a fiery ball"
I think it's okay if it's two drivers in different teams, but not okay if it's your team mate. Just calling it the way I see it.

I wonder if the FIA were watching the Sky F1 feed then as they showed a real slo-mo of a Red Bull taking a corner and the wing flexing and scraping off the ground...
That wasn't Sky's footage, that's the video that every broadcaster gets from FOM.

Different flex, the part that they have been disqualified for are the uppermost sections on each side of the nose as you look at the car from the front.

I think a lot of people (me included) believe they have cheated in the past (particularly 2011), so I'm not surprised.

Mercedes are probably cheating now.

I can't remember who said it, perhaps Flavio, that cheating is part of F1, and they do as much cheating as they think they can get away with. I'm miles off remembering the actual quote, but I think I got the gist.

Just watched Inside F1 on the BBC news channel.

They showed the Redbull and the Merc front wings when the cars were going over the kerbs.

The Merc wing elements didn't move the RB wing elements moved a lot.

You just have to laugh really.

https://twitter.com/adamcooperF1/status/5362299993...

"BTW FIA apparently checked four teams for wing deflection yesterday, so RBR not "singled out" as team claims..."

Cry cry cry.

I didn't get a chance to post about it yesterday, but did anyone see the low down camera angle by the front wing in FP1 yesterday? On the straights you could visually see the front elements bend back Ito a low drag position and then jump up under braking on some cars (red bull & Williams).

I was quite surprised by it

Yeah i noticed it as well, all of the wings do it to a certain degree though, however on the williams it was more noticeable than earlier in the season.

You'd think the wouldn't have enough strength to do the job in the corners watching it but I guess they've done the sums-interesting stuff.

It's strange that for a team owned by one of the slickest marketing operations on the planet, Red Bull as a team are really hard to like.

Has any team on the grid not been penalised for being outside the rules in say the last 15 years (picking an arbitrary timeline)?

McLaren, Red Bull. Ferrari, Lotus (Renault), Williams, Sauber, Force India, all have IIRC...

It goes back longer than 15 years - the Lotus twin-chassis car - genius interpretation of the rules or a breach? Strangely every other team decided "breach". The Brabham fan car - banned on "safety grounds" - ie it spat up stones and other debris.

Red Bull are being punished for breaking the 11th Commandment.
