If you don't mind driving south 40 mins then I highly recommend the ATS place in Forfar (next to Fiskens KIA/ Vauxhall). Despite being under the ATS banner its a good, family run place with good service.

Plus, added bonus, pick yourself up a Bridie at MacLarens too smile

Tyredevotion. Used them a few times and had no issues. They have vans so can come to you to change tyres at your house or work.

I have 19" wheels too and wouldn't use anyone other than Scott at Motorwerks in Forest Avenue Lane.

Same here, or there's Rob Sillet on Holland Street. My Dad and I have used him for years with zero incidents.

Tyre Services Aberdeen. They're just off Hareness Road, behind the Mercedes Commercial/Truck and Van garage. They swapped tyres on my 20" wheels on Saturday without issue. Best bit is, if you rock up early doors (i.e. 8am or just after) on a Saturday they do them while you wait.

I've never had a wheel damaged or a problem with any tyre they've fitted, I've probably used them about a dozen times now.

Thanks guys.

I dropped into Sillett's tyres today and the guy was rushed off his feet. He couldn't fit me in today but quoted £15 per wheel for 19" wheels.

On the way home I popped in past Laws tyres after seeing a recommendation on here in previous threads.

I've previously approached Laws for a few quotes and the prices quoted have been very excessive. They quoted £170 to repair a buckled wheel in the past that Turriff tyres did for £48.

Their tyres were also far more expensive for budget brands, Falken, than premium brands elsewhere.

However tyre fitting surely should be too bad I thought. £45-60 to fit all four seems to be about the going rate.

I dropped past and the depot was dead. There wasn't a car on any of the ramps.

I asked the guy if he could switch over tyres and he said "no bother, just bring it inside" and didn't even offer a price.

Lucky I asked. £25+VAT per wheel. £120 to fit 4 tyres that will take about 30 minutes or so. That's a not bad little earner.

No wonder the place is dead when they are asking 2 or 3 times as much as everywhere else.

I smiled and declined at that price.

If Sillets and Tyredevotion are that busy, surely that says enough about their quality of work. For me a few extra days wait is worth not having your alloys gouged but it all depends on how long you can continue on your existing tyres?

I'll be going back to Sillett's during the week.

I had the day to myself today and thought I'd manage to get someone to do the job. Although I do draw the line at £120 to do the job.

My car is due an MOT soon and my rears are quite low. I'd prefer to have new tyres on and not a little advisory about low tyres.

My mate got quoted £15 per tyre over the phone, turned up and it jumped to £25......Colin's Tyres is £12.50 in comparison.
