hiya,
I've had an issue with my remote central locking for a few days now on my door 1999 car - I've tried the reset, as described by a few on the forums, and it indicates that all my doors and buttons on my key fob are communicating with the car.

However, whenever you press 'lock' the passenger door locks and unlocks, drivers door does nothing... leaving everything unlocked.
So now i'm using the key to manually lock the doors, which works. But if you then press the 'unlock' key only the passenger door unlocks.
I'm a bit baffled, have WD40'd all the locks and bits I can see, do I need a new module or something!? Hopefully not!
Thanks for any help, its really appreciated!

It will almost certainly be the drivers door lock/latch mechanism failed or less possibly the wiring between the door and A-pillar has broken.

The nearside lock will unlock again as it sees the offside lock still in an unlocked position, both fronts are master or controlling locks, the rears are slaves if it`s a 5 door.

Hmm yes that makes sense! Although from the inside pushing the drivers lock locks both doors but again pushing the passenger does nothing i assume it is the what you say...
How would I go about fixing the problem? Do I need to replace anything? Thanks so much for your help!!

If you lock the drivers side manually you are mechanically moving the locking mechanism and at the same time moving the switch(in the same mechanism) that sends a signal to the other doors.
The motor that is part of the locking mechanism that actuates the lock in place of you physically doing it is buggered.
The passengers side will still send a signal when you lock it but as the signal is wasted on the faulty drivers lock it wont do anything.
Just get a complete latch/lock assembly from a breakers/Ebay it will be a lot cheaper than new.
