I am helping to organise a Classic and Sports car festival near Le Mans on the eve of the 24 hour race.
The 2015 event is themed MG and I am looking for owners of this classic British marque, who want to take part in the event, its exhibition, the Cavalcade into Le Mans for the Parade . . . or just come along with your car.
The event is Friday 12th June . . The Classic British Welcome. Entirely FREE and has around 1,000 cars on show.
A great event and will still give you time to get over to the circuit for the Friday Service with PH!
Please respond if you are interested in getting involved.
Regards
Dave

Is this open to all MGs?

There will be a lot of interest from the modern era owners.

I'm always at the GBW but have they done anything about the terrible get away afterwards. Queueing is awful to get down to the main drag again

I expect my Midget and at least one or two Frogeyes will they be welcome?

Of course the later MGs will be welcome, and I will inform the 'Gate Keeper' about Maestros and Montegos.
Not sure about the very new MGs .. will as the question of the committee!

Regarding Frogeyes etc. Not a problem and, for all the Classic Cars, if you are interested in the Cavalcade, this has reserved parking at our site, and reserved public parking in Le Mans so you can watch the Drivers Parade.
If interested, I will need some details and a photo of the car. The Cavalcade is for all makes of Classic cars . . the Parade cars are MG only. Send me your email address and I can email more details, or contact me via our website (UK version) classicbw.org

We have recently reviewed the traffic issues that have not been good in recent years. . .. we had 9,000 visitors this year. We intend to have a new system and route next year, and perhaps we can publish this on our website to help everyone. It needs a bit of cooperation from the Gendarmerie as well!

Don't forget the PH Friday service later in the afternoon ....But don't all leave Saint Saturnin at the same time!!
Regards
Dave

Dave we will let you know how many Midgets we will be when we have the round up after Christmas

And Frogeyes

My mates and I have been Midgeting and Spriting the GBW for years, you will have seen us if you were there

We will be overcome with 'happy' if you manage to get the Gendarmes to allow us a better way out of the site

As for later MGs, Fs and such it may help sway your committee if you advise them that MGFs are now welcomed at The Classic Car Night at London's Ace Cafe meeting

We had a joint meeting there in August and a bunch of them drove down to the Ace from our meeting point at Tamworth with our Midgets and Sprites and were allowed on site parking with the other classics

A good night then ensued

Fantastic if you can bring a group of MGs. Please send me some details via our website when you have an idea of them and I will see what we can offer you that might be of interest. Site is classicbw.org
Sadly we have no camping facilities at the site (it's on my 'wish' list) but I will find out where is the closest and also where are the local B&B's if that is of interest.

Regarding MGF's etc . .. if it's and MG, we should allow it in! I am compiling a picture list for the guys on the gate.
F's, Montego's and Maestro's as well. F's are great little cars and I hope to have one in the exhibition hall!

PARKING : We now have new site access plans and even a small bit of extra external parking. We will publish access route on our website early part of next year.

Please keep the feedback/suggestions coming . . It is an event for YOU and is successful with YOUR great cars.

Camping near Saint Saturnin:
There is a site only 5-10 minutes from our festival site. The details are:
Camping Le Vieux Moulin, Rue Du Vieux Moulin, Neuville Sur Sarthe, 72190
Tel: +33 2 43 25 31 82
I will pop over and have a look soon and let you all know what it's like.
There is also a municipal site about 20 mins north at Beaumont-sur-Sarthe.

Piston Heads have a site too don't they! Close to the circuit, have a look at this as well.
Hope this helps
