Headlight Restoration

Hi, I have a mk5 golf, 9 years old, I have noticed the headlights have become hazy and the light suffers as a consequence. Does anybody know of anyone who can restore the headlights. I have tried to fix it myself with dedicated cleansers, but the haze still remains.

Had similar. Sort of a yellow hazy layer on the lights? Went over it with a mildly abrasive metal polish (Autosol). Only took a couple of minutes on each side to get full clarity back again.

If you do a check online, a common thing to use to restore your headlights is toothpaste! Rub it until it becomes sticky then clean off with a wet cloth/towel. I did it on the Zed and got the following results:

Hi guys

Thanks for your replies, I gave the headlights another go last week, but the only difference was that people started to flash or use their rear fogs if I was behind them. It wasn't the alignment as the headlight low beam line of both lights barely reached above the bumper of the whichever car I was behind. I decided to just replace the lights with a set of new ones. Managed it with the help of brother and a couple of tips from the interweb.

I did mine a few weeks ago. 1200 wet and dry followed by G6 on a rotary buffer. I don't have any photos, but the headlights came out like new and all in, only took about 30 mins.
