Big fan of the album and was planning to see the live show (final tour this year) but completely forgot until this morning. rolleyes

Luckily, some tickets still available. £100 later for 2 and hopefully should be all set for the O2 mid December.

Anyone been? Seems to get a lot of praise. Hope it'll be good. smile

I saw it at the O2 a couple of years ago. It is an excellent show, you won't be disappointed. The surround sound mix is very good. When I went the music was exactly as per the album, I have heard that is is slightly different now with a different voice over. Should still be good though I guess.

I believe Liam Neeson does the voice over/narration (replacing Richard Burton).

I hope it's good. I remember my father playing the album when I was a child - genuinely scared the st out of me!

I went a couple of years ago at the O2 as well. They did the New Generation version of the album - I would've preferred the original, but still really enjoyed it!

Worth it just to hear it live - and loud!

This - I too went a couple of years ago and would have preferred the original version. Still fantastic though. Enjoy!!

I've seen the original album tour a few times, really enjoyed it. Loved seeing Justin Hayward and Chris Thompson doing their bits live. Sound and visuals were brilliant.

I've not seen the 'New Generation', so cannot comment on the current tour. Didn't like the album so will probably give the tour a miss this time around also.

Seen both shows over the years - brilliant, superb, outstanding both of them. Subtle differences between them, but you won't be disappointed.

One of my life's abiding memories of any sort of live theatre will be the huge hologram of Richard Burton during the opening sequence.

"No one would have believed,
in the last years of the 19th century
that human affairs were being watched
from the timeless worlds of space".

Marvellous!

Yet another fan - saw one of the last shows with Richard Burton on a snowy night at Wembley. It was a great show, and I'd certainly recommend it.

Sounds familiar... the snow was so bad the m40 was down to 1 lane, and it took the best part of 5 hours to do what is normally a 1 1/2 drive..

But just his opening lines made it well worthwhile smile

Listened to the remake again over the weekend, and just couldnt get on with it at all, Burton's narration is an integral part, and Neeson's voice just, well its just not right.

Thanks to this thread, I've just bought tickets for the Glasgow show tomorrow night and I can't wait! Have seen it twice before but not with the Liam Neeson voiceover.

If anyone else is going, keep your eyes out for 1 of the (2) spotlight guys and if its a big bald headed lad do me a favour and walk up to him and say, "Alright Nige?" that should throw him smile

Went this evening, it was great. So glad I managed to see it before the end of the tour. Properly loud and with some great lighting/effects.

My only criticism is that the computer graphics displayed in the background looked rather crude by modern standards.

Otherwise, EPIC! cool

Didnt see you there wavey but yes a show not to be missed ,as usual O2 parking a nightmare .Did pre booked parking costing an arm and leg , the carpark was jam packed and we ended parking about as far as you could from the arena . the only upside was a quick exit , unlike some I heard of on the radio this morning who took over an hour to get out of the car park .

Must dust off my vinyl copy of W O T W and revisit the orginal

byebye Small world and all that!

I didn't realise it was such a big venue!

The fiancée and I travelled in by Tube, got there at around 18:30 with a view to eating something beforehand. EVERY bloody restaurant (and there are a lot at the O2!) had crazy long queues. Ended up having a pint at All-Bar-One instead. 1xEstrella & 1xPeroni - £9.90!! We ate after the show and by that time the mass exodus to the Underground had calmed down.

Overall, I thought the performance was great. The lady who played the Parson's wife was superb. I was also impressed with Jason Donovan and very pleasantly surprised with Shayne Ward. I thought McFadden's voice however was a little weak.

First time I've heard the new 'Life Begins Again' song. I also note the narrator was referred to as George. Iirc, he's unnamed in the book.

We queued for Frankie and Bennie , the food did not live up to the menu ,
Problem with O2 that night was 2 live shows plus the cinema overload facilities, there was even a long queue for men's toilets , now they know how the ladies feel

I saw it in Liverpool a couple of years back. The show was excellent although I would have preferred the original album music rather than the new one.

I too thought the graphics were pretty poor though.
