I have a 2004 Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCI.
When I turn the engine off and leave it for 3 hours or more and then restart it, it stops running after a few seconds. When I then pump the hand pump on the engine about 20 times to draw up the fuel it then starts and runs fine. On 2 occasions recently it would not start at all even after pumping until a few hours later. I have had this problem for some time. If I leave the car parked nose down a hill the problem is a lot less frequent, it appears that the fuel is running back to the tank when switched off.
Can anybody help with what the fault is please.
