Spotted...well sort of

Had a yellow/green Ultima Sport down at the workshop today.
It came over from France for an MOT. The owner is French and does not speak English so an ex pat made all the arrangements and came over with him to help the process.
Car went straight through so all good. The owner says he knows of 6 Ultima in France which surprised me.

6 Ults in France that is surprising indeed. If I recall from a photo the Factory posted on their FB page at least one is registered and running with French plates. There is the red GTR in the south owned by James on here...

The original plan was for the Ultima in France and my Caterham to spend more time back home to enjoy club organised events in the UK. However with French registration being near impossible, costly insurance, steep slope /under car clearance garage access issues and with getting to know the car it was best to stay in the UK. Meanwhile I enjoy the French mountain roads in the Caterham for now. Have been in touch with Budala who is based down this way also. He is the only one I know on this forum. However when talking to AXA insurance in Nice they stated that they had a couple of Ultima's Insured with them, never seen them on the road. In the future and having a base in South France I would love to try the Paul Ricard track and blast up and down the Route Napolean. Ult-Jim.

Probably the same one. The owner said he bought it about 10 months ago from someone in Paris.

As it happened we did not work on it but we were there as the fallback plan if it failed MOT. It came over on the morning ferry and back the same evening.
