Got £50k to start building a house extension, trouble is work won,t start until at least feb.So what should I do with it until then?At the moment it is in my HSBC advance account but I,m sure it could be put to better use.Any ideas please?

If you need that money in just a few months time I'd personally just be leaving it well alone. You could go premium bonds but you'd get 1 maybe 2 draws tops I'd say.

Just search for a decent savings account and keep it protected.

2 months interest on 50k in a savings account is going to be £200 tops.

It's not worth the effort researching and moving it around IMO.

I'm not suggesting you do it. I'm suggesting you deal it!
