Just got an email about it. Not sure how. I think I may have registered my email on the main tvr website some time ago.

Aah, iirc I purchased my steering wheel from clever trevor, that's probably why then.

Im seriously hoping it's not Rgc behind this new parts venture by Tvr as the last amount of parts I bought from them were terrible we're talking cheap bad quality Chinese copies!

Easy to throw virtual bombs.

It seems this is a genuine attempt by the 'new' owners of TVR to help current owners maintain their cars and hence protect the customer base. A sensible move to me that we should all be applauding.

Why the negativity?

Hi,

I noticed that where they are awaiting pics for parts, the placeholder is

"TVR heritage genuine part"

It sounds good if the new owners have made a decision to support current owners, and to create a sub brand around that, rather like MG did. I assume that any supplier they have chosen to work with was based on a series of conversations with a lot of potential partners, I'm just glad to see some forward movement with the brand,

I don't necessarily feel negative about it, as continued parts supply is a good thing, but my first look makes this appear not much more than a re-skinned RG site as opposed to an in house TVR parts business.

I've got nothing against the parts side of RG and they've helped me on a few occasions but in my view if Les/new TVR has indeed partnered up with RG to offer parts to current owners then it may be that the message would be better received if they were upfront about it. With nothing published on tvr.co.uk, or any press statement, then this just seems to be a ploy to gain business by RG by setting up a new website that doesn't use their name or appear to be related, which in such a tight owner community will raise more suspicion than otherwise.

I'm off for a browse as I need some new seals smile

I took my initial post down as maybe it wasn't fair. I'm not negative on anything that can help TvR and keep the brand running. I feel however that this looks like RG rebranding, and with no announcement from TvR (maybe over this weekend?) I am suspicious of the play on genuine parts tag, as it could be construed as misleading. For example, a buyer might buy a helix clutch thinking that it was heritage genuine, or whatever the tag, then find that somewhere like Power might not fit it as it is not AP.

I agree on the misleading comment, there seems to be quite a few things on the site which weren't originally fitted by tvr.

The filtering of parts by car model doesn't seem to work very well either .

I'm definitely not being negative to Tvr at all I applaud them for creating parts availability for Tvr owner's, but they picked the wrong suppliers unfortunately I suppose time will tell all.
