Anyone go today.. Was a bit foggy in the morning by all accounts.. (I turned up in the afternoon in the black e36 with orange bits on).

Does anyone know if the guy who crashed at the end in the saxo was all ok?

Joe,
I was photographing the day but had packed up by 4pm.
Hope all involved with the Saxo are ok.
Got quite a few shots of the running that did take place once the fog has eased enough.
I'll be sorting through all my shots over the weekend and will get them uploaded onto my site so feel free to have a look.

Was a good day enjoyed it once the track got less greasy, we were in the red Mr2 mk3.
It's such a great flowing circuit.

What happened to the Saxo where did it go off?

I think I was out on the track with you a couple of times..

Yep, it was greasy when they opened it, it was amusing watching the big old Jag doing a number pirouettes. I think in the second session at least 5 span on camp.

At the end of the day it was almost completely dry, Just at 4pm he had a big off at quarry, ambulance in attendance etc.
I saw the car come back down the circuit on a loader, looked to be front end + missing door (that may have been a trick of the light).

It is a great flowing track, once you start really using the curbs on the chicanes to keep the speed up (something I need to do as I lack raw grunt to pull me out)

That looks nasty a shame to end his track day like that, the car looked to be going well.

What car were you in Joe90? There were some nice cars there.

I was there purely as a spectator. As has already been said it was a shame to end the day like that. The driver appeared to be in good spirits after the accident so I assume he was all ok.

The black E36 with orange bits - did that used to be owned by someone called Coxy? I'm sure I recognised the car...

Nope.. I built it up. There is a thread on here about it. I would imagine a number of matt black with orange bits on exist.. I am going to change it over winter, put a cage in as its getting quite fast now, I had good fun trying to get past a m3 for a number of laps.

I was there in one of the white Evo 10's. The one with the big black carbon wing on it. It was an interesting afternoon, very greasy for most of the day. The Saxo that went off finishing the day for us was struggling to keep it on track before the crash, he span right in front of me entering Bobbies chicane on the session before his crash.

The morning was dull with thick fog and no track time, but a lot of fun in the afternoon when we got onto track, just had to be careful of the greasy surface. Enjoyed it very much.

We were there in the Mk2 Golf race car. Sharing it with my son. He races it but it was my first track day so you may have seen it going much faster in a couple of sessions when he was driving. He was a good teacher though & I can now seen what I spent all that money on in his karting days!!
Overall a great first track day for me improving each time with no spins!!

Yes we watched that - every lap you'd appear on the M3's tail, then we'd watch as he pulled out a decent lead on the straight after Quarry - came to the conclusion that there must have been some skill making up for the difference in power!

Hi Kezzie, I had a quick look on your web site for photos earlier, couldn't find any. Do you have any of my white Evo 10 with the black lines on the bonnet ? Rob

That was 'quite' nippy that car.. What is it running, I followed you out, sort of attempted to keep up to the esses wink and then 'Whooosh'' you were gone...

I doubt that.. smile but thanks.. The sticky rubber and suspension really help lots, (and using all curb in the chicanes in an attempt to keep the speed up).
I could almost get him out of camp, I had a much faster exit speed, but then his power just pulled him away every time.

Thanks, it's only got a small turbo, a stock frame Mitsubishi unit, but with some engine flow work, I have now got 570bhp and 540 lbs/ft. We changed the ECU to MOTEC so we have no electronic aides except a MOTEC centre diff controller which helps in those conditions. It also has a Samsonas sequential dog box. That's a bonus too. smile

I think there were 2 there? One was popping and cracking a treat on overun.. I bet the box makes that really good fun.. I came out and even with crappy power the back was slipping around.. You just launched into the distance..

So.. more power next? wink you at CC often?

Yes, it's local for me and I really love the place, back again on the 6th December with BHP.
