Lovely car, I've always liked the idea of a 130i and they are certainly tremendous value currently.

I really like this, doesn't look too shouty either, nice and subtle.

My n52 330 auto is pretty rapid when you rev it so this must be a blast smile

Is it debadged?

Love the goodies you are putting on it! Wish I could justify the cost myself but got other stuff to pay for at the moment.
Enjoy the car, it's constantly growing on me and I can't think of anything this side of £10k i'd replace it with.

The M3 LCA are a great mod, prolly one of the cheapest and most beneficial. Some of the other mods are 'expensive' but it's all relative. I mean I could have put down £12k on a diesel Audi.
True True. I think for me the best mods would be for sound, as I don't really push the car to it's limits that often so a bit more sound would be nice. Especially with the tunnels in Leeds.

Once you've done everything to yours it'll be stunning.

This thread prompted me to have a scour of AT for a 130i hatch - there are only a couple for sale in the country. I didn't realise they were so rare??

Lots of 125i and 135i but no 130i. Strange

Yes, only 1000 of them apparently and then 160 LE's (3dr all options, lemon leather and special paint/wheels). They weren't a great seller which bodes well for the future. IMO that's why it is important to find one with the right bits as there are not too many to pick and choose. It's still not that hard to find them but you have to move a bit quicker than you would if you were looking for something like a Golf or Focus. If you do go for one then I think Xenon's and heated seats are the main things...also a tow-bar if you want to carry bikes smile
When I was looking a few years ago there were none at all in my price range for months on end, as soon as one appeared I got over to the garage the same day and put down a deposit!

I have the BMWP air box and it sounds great smile

Interesting thread smile

No mention of cost for the air box and brakes - would be interested to know what the setup owes you.

Keep up the good work smile

Cool. Really interesting thread and I love reading these sort of things. Whilst I've gone the shouty route, it doesn't mean I don't have time or an appreciation for the subtle smile

In terms of reducing weight - I suppose there are lighter wheels (are CSLs lighter, wonder if they'd suit the 1er?) and perhaps even lighter / sportier seats.

Please keep this updated! smile

As I'm sure you've read too but from what I've heard the exhaust takes at least 1k miles to get properly bedded in so I guess you'll be waiting a while and it'll grow on you bit by bit?

Saying the gear knob is the best mod so far makes me wonder whether I should just get one. Haven't done anything to my 130 other than a machine polish yet...

Is the exhaust the BMW Performance one? Or another brand? I'm thinking about 130i myself, but trying to budget in the parts I'd want to swap over too. From what YouTube has shown me the BMW Performance one seems to sound better than the Eisenmann ones.

Yes I have the BMWP exhaust. The Eisenmann is actually pretty nice as long as you don't have the race version, that one is a bit loud.
From YouTube its so hard to tell how loud stuff is, it seemed like the BMWP was louder than the Eisenmann Race. Thanks for the info.

I have the BMWP exhaust and intake as well and agree the difference is 'subtle' but still nice.

You should grab a BMW aero rear spoiler and consider a debadge to tidy up the rear:

I've also fitted:

- The Alpine kit, dealer supplied hifi upgrade.
- Weisslicht LED indictors in light smoke which are lovely and not at all Halfords.

PM me if you are after a set of winter wheels and tyres.

At some point it will be mapped, either Evolve or over at Superchips. Clearing the adaptions has been recommended but it doesn't feel broken so....
What are you expecting from a map?

I do like these but you could have bought a 335i and had 300 plus bhp with 380 bhp available just by adding another £600.

The headlight washers seemed to be broken but I have since learnt they only operate every 5 times, does anyone know??
A colleague had his X3 fail its MOT because of this - they tried and it didn't work, so they failed it.
