Hi guys.

I'm new to all this. I've brought myself a Mondeo 2.0 tddi ghia. I really want to change the interior to have red leather seats. I've seen some nice ones but they're BMW. I suppose what I'm asking is will Ford seats just fit into a Ford car or are there other car seats that I can use that are just as decent. Sorry if this question sounds a bit thick. As I say I've just started and it's more of a hobby for me.
Cheers guys

I may be wrong but I am sure if you have a saloon they must be from a saloon etc

Sorry to post so long after everyone else, but you will need Mondeo seats from a similar car to the shape you already have, I.e. Hatch to hatch, saloon to saloon.

You would also have to take into account whether your car is pre facelift or facelift as the seats wire into the looms differently.
It's fairly easy to install later seats into an earlier Mondy and there are guides available online.

The problem you have is that you want a red interior. The ST seats and door cards can easily fetch £600 in top second hand condition, and £350 with splits, rips or tears.

Black ST interiors which are identical except colour go for as low as £200.

I have an ST with a very good red interior and that alone added several hundreds to the buying price.

Good luck in your search and have a very good look at any red leather you look at. You can no longer buy replacement red leather parts from Ford even if you wanted to pay new prices. The infra red colour is VERY hard to match and this all but rules out things like headrest DVDs unless you have a trimmer do the work for you.

The inner door pulls (if scratched or damaged) on the door cards can't just be sprayed with a rattle can like the black ones and cost about £50 each from a dealer.

In short, best of luck with your search if you are still searching, but make sure your wallet is well stocked smile
