The original B&H Jordan in 1996 was a sort of mustard yellow, up until Monaco, when it was re-painted gold. I understand they needed to figure out a shade of gold that wouldn't look awful on TV - but I may have made that up in my imagination
Probably right as like I said above companies are more concerned how a car looks on TV rather than in the flesh. The Jaguar paint was seen as too dark at the first few races. Santander are still a McLaren partner - http://www.mclaren.com/formula1/partners/Santander...
Mclaren as a whole don't look to be in the best shape, the F1 team has no sponsors, the road car aide isn't selling as many cars aos expected, they're registering cars and over stocking dealers at the moment, things really don't look to be turning around any time soon. Let's hope they bring a good car this year, just for morale sake.

Does Alonso no longer bring Santander with him?
Apparently tied into Ferrari until 2016. andyps said:

Santander is a sponsor of both Ferrari ( until 2017) and McLaren (renewed last Thursday).Flying Toilet said:

Be interesting to know size of those deals, the Ferrari one was a big deal, the mclaren a smaller affair maybe £5m a year i wonder if that has changed with Alonso arriving.McLaren are fine, although lack of title sponsor will hurt in long run as honda won't pick up the slack forever

Seems odd that there wasn't a Santander logo (that I could see) in the photo of Alonso in his overalls, whereas in previous seasons it was prominently placed across the front of the overalls.
Maybe there is some strange personal legacy due to his extraction from the Ferrari contract early. Would be odd for the Brit to have the Santander logo on his overalls but not the Spaniard.Gassing Station | Formula 1 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
