Hi all,

My seats are a bit tired, they are early Cerb ones. I have a few options:

1. Retrim
2. Replace with tvr seats from a later model ie Tamora or T350 although these are really rare.
3. Go for something different like the link below.

What do you reckon? Any ideas.

Cheers

Ben

It's a difficult one. Do the cobra seats fit? They don't easily fold forward to allow access to rear?
Not sure that anyone has changed to another seat and got an outcome that fits well and looks right and is functionally right... Yes the replacements offer better support and might hold you tight but...

This site has tons of seats. These tilt forward but not sure if they are too wide

At £1000 a seat I would go for the retrim option!

It's very subjective, I know, but personally I think a car interior looks much better resolved with the original seats. There is little worse for an interior, in my humble opinion, than a pair of front seats which look completely different to the rear seats and the rest of the trim in terms of colour, shapes and patterns of various bits of material etc etc.

My vote therefore is in favour of retrimming your existing seats.

I have to agree with this.

Its a right game getting seats to fit, i have fixed back track seats as i enjoy my car most there, so back seats even more useless.
Tunnel is really narrow, and width at the top of the door card is restricted so you cant shut the door, and the roof is very low so they hit that, plus seats have to be really low where your backside is otherwise you just end up looking at the Roll bar/head hits the rooflining/no clearance for helmet, and i am only 5'9".

I fitted some cobra imola2's in a previous car and the level of lateral support was a revelation. I reused the existing runners but the main problem was getting them mounted low enough.

Thanks guys, the support on mine aren't great and I'm only 5 11 and I have to have the seats reclined or I end up sat too high.

With the seat back I look like a 17 year old driving a saxo, just need my baseball cap on backwards!!

I believe later cerbs have the roof line higher..could be wrong though

Agree with this....
unless it's a track tool then it would be plain daft to stick with the original, you can always refit them when/if you sell later.

I personally find the original seats very comfortable and supportive.

While of course you can refit the originals if you want, I just see no need to change them out.

I agree with Gruffalo, my standard seats are comfy and give OK support.

If you found a good trimmer you could always get them to re-foam the seats with more support. I had this done in my Porsche engined Karmann Ghia as the original seats were terrible but I wanted to keep it stock looking.

It made a huge difference and kept it looking original. Wasn't much more money than a re-trim so could be an option......
