Just wanted to get peoples experience, when it comes to choice of spark plugs.

When I bought my E30 M3, I gave it a full and comprehensive service almost immediately. It had been fitted with NGK Iridium plugs but I replaced these with the OE Bosch items. I did that after a passing comment by a local workshop, where they said they had suffered some running issues, down to the Iridium plugs.

I've also noted a considerable price difference between brands.

4 x Bosch - £8
4 x NGK Iridium - £32
4 x NGK - £12
4 x Denso Iridium - £34
4 x Champion - £21

So what plugs do you use and why?

Have you suffered any issues with the alternatives?

How often do you change your plugs?

Denso IX27B, which is slightly cooler than the recommended Denso IX24B. I chose this plug as it was the easiest brand to choose a cooler plug at the time. No running issues with it at all.

Change plugs every two oil changes, so about 9-10k miles. They would probably last longer than that bu old habits and all that.

I've never considered the Denso plugs. Might give them a look now though.

Bosch (X5dtc of the top of my head) as you say they are cheap and I can't say Ive ever had an issue with them Boggo engine though which didnt require anything cooler etc. Perhaps slightly biased since they are cheap I tend to change them at each oil service/once a year.

Bosch X5DTC. Never tried anything else so no not of any potential issues.
