Hi all,

Does anyone have any advice on selling a rolex datejust in the north west? (Manchester if possible)

I have a SS datejust with silver dial, jubilee bracelet etc

So far have only tried cheshire watch company they offered 2700 but looking for over 3k if possible - anyone know any decent places to try?

Failing that is it worth sticking it on eBay?

Cheers!

I was under the impression that you needed to take it into branch to sell to them? Or can it be posted in?

Blowers, or in Manchester you could try rockefellas on police st.

Ebay is good- IF you know how to play the game, avoid the scams, avoid the high fees, and stay safe, all while ignoring the timewasters.

Blowers are excellent if you can extend your north west boundary a little. Have had very good experience with them on a part ex and purchase.

Also may be worth giving Miltons a call in Liverpool or Chester. I've never sold them a watch but have bought off them and had really good service at the time. They always carry a good stock of used Rolex watches.

£2700 sounds like a good price.

I'd say £2700 was a good price. Been watching some of these on eBay to buy one for the Mrs. 2006+ models seem to sell for c£3k. Which as a seller with fees to pay it's not far off the price you were offered.

Take some good pics and start low value as the one's who pitch in with Buy it now @£3k+ dont appear to sell. Selling now you might get a good price. For me I'll wait until January to buy

Trowelhead, I tried some on and I just did not get on with them as much as I thought I would. I just found them to be a bit too small. Thanks, and good luck selling.

Leave Watchfinder well alone. They will give you a reasonable offer via email and then half it when they receive your watch. New Turfers are full of time wasters, and very little exposure.
Mind you, some prat on here wanted to buy my Submariner by monthly direct debit payments.

In the 5 years I've been dealing with WF, that's never happened to me. The only reason I think this MIGHT happen is because the seller has been somewhat optimistic in their description of the watch they're selling.

I've always been given 100% of the offer made.

Sounds like you're on a downer on a the usual selling options, so where would you recommend?

I have to disagree. I went to Watch Finder and sold them a used Rolex for the same price I had bought it for from a dealer a few months earlier, very good service and fair price.

Maybe my experience was irregular, maybe yours was, but either way, I think they are well worth a try.
