Ok my Sunn UX over the last few years has popped it's seal so I now have a large bubble where there should be liquid on the face.

I am looking at sending it back to Sinn in Germany but looking at the info I can allow them to carry out work up to 200,300,500 euro's but if you want a estimate of the work before they start work it's going to cost me 20 Euro

So has anyone sent their Sinn back to Germany to be serviced and re-sealed. Wondering how much I may be looking at? The watch is about 5 years old and not had a service So I thought I may as well send it off, service and sorted

Any help

Can't they provide a quote? I would have thought that new seals/oil would be part of a service (along with a new dial and handset due to the oil discolouring them, I think) and that it would be a fixed price.

I can only do by the info they have put on their website. If you want a quote then it's going to be 20 euro's. I may just send off a email and ask if I get a service and re-sealed could they tell me how much this would be. I could not see it costing a huge amount as it's not like I need it re-built

As you've said, send them an email and see what they say, I would have thought that they could provide a FOC fixed price quote for a service and that the service on a UX would include (at least) new oil and seals. I haven't looked at Sinn's site myself however I'm guessing that the chargeable quote that they're referring to would be when, for example, a watch isn't functioning properly due to accidental damage and the cost of getting it fixed is unknown until they've inspected it.

Either way, I'd be interested to know what their response is as I have a UX myself.

I've sent them a Email today asking how much a service and re-seal of the watch would cost.

Hoping to hear back at some point soon

I sent mine via Neil (Chronomaster); you pick up the VAT (on the service cost) and RM shipping to / from Neil, but it suited me as I don't spend long in the UK and wanted an 'agent' to handle it so no customs problems etc.

The bubble appears in a lot of the silicon watches (look at pics of older EZM2s) but doesn't affect the timekeeping apparently. Something to do with temperatures and gas dissolution maybe...unless there is oil all over your wrist! smile ?

I used neil to buy my Sinn after recommendations on here. But after the warranty was out thought of going direct.

And no probs on the service costs. If I can help like others have with me then i'm happy
