My biggest disappointment compared to my 991 CS is that you don't get pops and crackles with the GT3. Pops and crackles are added through the engine map so would be nice if they had a retrofit for the GT3 smile
Hi Scott , what do you mean re engine map ? Are you saying that at certain revs the exhaust is forced to perform in certain ways - not sure I really understand the whole synthetic exhaust thing ? smile
Going back a few years when I had a WRX, my mapper could play around with fueling/timing on the overrun to produces pops and bangs. Obviously that was on a Turbo car but I would of thought that makes no difference. Hence the 991 having a crackling exhaust on overrun especially when PSE is on, im not sure but I don't think previous Carrera's had this. I read/saw somewhere that the crackles of the 991 where added "emotion" along with that poxy sound composer that I stuffed with a bit of foam as it was a whiney noise

Yep 997 SE was rubbish . The SE on my 991 C2S although "synthetic" was great - much better than the GT3 IMHO (apologies to the purists) It just can't be right that the first thing I do on start up in a GT3 is hit the SE button smile

Rich, I would be careful, resonance can be a real PITA...
Thanks for the warning - hopefully more people will come forward : only had two people comment with it fitted so far - 1 with an issue - 1 without - more comments from users please smile
I have a Sharkwerks MB filled to my 997.1 GT3. Very happy with it and i've not experienced the issues mentioned by others in this thread.

Cheers thanks for letting me know - sure it will be fine otherwise there would be lots of on line chatter about issues - very hard to find this though smile

Try these clips for size from friends across the pond:

Had mine since August and certainly no regrets. The OEM exhaust too “normal” for my liking - do what you feel in this instance, all emotional but at least it can be reversed if not to your liking. A 991 GT3 needs to be seen and certainly heard!!

Yep - very excited , my only gripe with the GT3 - otherwise awesome in every way. The sound in the video is intoxicating smile

Can't say total price - you would need to speak to Chris at ABP , however what I can tell you is whatever it is you will need to add on my commission , which is very costly. This is down to Chris hijacking my thread for ABP marketing purposes - only kidding Chris , you carry on , it's a master stroke , a stroke of genius . Joking apart , I'm yet to have it fitted but the service so far has been really excellent - roll on Thursday smile

Down she comes!

I only drove the car briefly to check for sound levels and fitment so will leave Rich to comment as it's hi car. All I will say is that as much as I love my 997.2 GTS I desperately want a 991 GT3 fitted with a Sharkwerks exhaust in my life!!!

It's very late so I'll be brief - Fistly Chris and his team - top class - highly recommend them - the only hitch was the delayed start caused by the stupid customer not getting there on time - Chris re jigged his day and started on my car as soon as I arrived - all done and dusted in an hour and a bit - exhaust now sounds as it should on a GT3 , but doesn't sound excessive from inside the cabin , especially with the SE off - however with SE on , sounds amazing when revving with the door open - just awesome smile

Highly recommend ABP - thanks Chris once more for your help and support through this simple process.

P.S no issue what so ever with the dreaded resonance smile

Thank you for your kind words Richard, as always very much appreciated.

Thought your car sounded epic with the valves open and can't imagine it being able to sound any more pleasurable!

Enjoy it and have a great Christmas

Not sure - call me a cynic but if Porsche can wiggle out of a warranty claim they may - but I thought WTF , don't care smile
