Guys what is the current going rate for a chassis swap? I'm sure there are lots of threads on this but has anyone had one done recently and have an up to date costing.
I'd simply like to take the car there on trailer and hopefully pick up with new chassis and ready for MOT.
I'm fairly local to Track v Road who I believe deal with TVRs.
Many thanks

Hi Kenny, Im not sure about track V road but I'm having my chassis referbed at RT Racing in Sheffield.
He does a brand new chassis for under £3K, but as we all know while the body is off you may as well do..................
My chassis needed new outriggers and part of the main chassis tube was suspect and replaced.
I have spent over £1200 on new ball joints, shocks, brakes, bushes ect and still haven't finished yet.
I think it depends how good you want the finished car to be, things are much easyer to work on with the body off.
Give Richard a call at RT racing.
Good luck.
Paul.

I would go with the very nice replacement chassis from RT Racing and have the pleasure of building it up yourself with new/refurbished parts. When I finally take the plunge with a new chassis that is the route I intend to take. If yours is a precat it probably has a silver chassis (my 4.3 has), which it would be nice to retain rather than the later light grey. You could consider a process of 'hot zinc spray' precoat followed by the colour coat, would last forever if properly looked after. Just a thought, regards, Pete
