Hi all - I'm after a decent hotel in Barcelona thats quality but not too pricey for a 4 night stay in May with my wife. Budget around £5-700 for the 4 nights.
Ideally central but not a noisy area!

Never been to Barcelona before so any other hints and tips would be appreciated smile

We stayed at the Soho Hotel in Barcelona, which was pretty decent. Only £80 a night, though that was in January.

The hotel itself was pretty quiet and the area, while close to the university was nice enough too. Around 10 minutes from Las Ramblas and right next to a Metro station.

We stayed at the Hotel Exe. In a road running parallel to Las Ramblas (less than 5 mins walk).
Breakfast expensive so used a small cafe right next door. Also close to the tourist bus loop stop!!
Enjoy - it's a lovely place albeit expensive!!

Hi there,

We stayed here http://www.nnhotels.com/en/hotels-1/barcelona-16/h...

It's just on the Ramblas and a short walk from the Market. Absolutely brilliant location, nice bar and great room.

We'd definitely go back!

Hope this helps smile

3 years ago the wife and I visited Barcelona for 4 nights and stayed at the Hotel Monte Carlo which was very good. Located near the top of Las Ramblas and near the main square so good for local transportation, restaurants etc. Not noisy either despite its location.

Very near Barcelona's main market which is well worth a visit.

Before we went we booked a 1/2 day walking tour of the old town (excellent) and it started from the tourist office which is close by.
