Hi, I recently Purchased a 2005 B6 S4, so far loving the car, just one thing I can't seem to get working are the footwell lights.

Pic of the car

I have changed all the interior bulbs to LED which all work well and look fantastic. The issue is the foot well bulbs these previously had standard bulbs in which didn't give off any light. I have now put in LED variants and these clearly have power to them as there is the faintest amount of light now coming through the LED's.

Any ideas why they are so dim?

The lights under the doors work and so do the red ones when you open the door. I have also checked the fuse, when this is taken out the light goes out as expected and put back in again very limited light which you can only see looking up close.

Appreciate any help. Car is 2005 S4 Cabrio if that makes any difference.

and these are the lights, left is what came out right what went in.

whoops my mistake image changed, I have read on another forum it could be a relay issue number 382, no idea where this is located. The lights have power as they do just about glow when the doors are open but they are not as bright as these bulbs should be.
Advice welcome

Lovely cab.

Sorry I can't help with the answer to your question, but am interested in the interior light upgrade.

Did this include the lights above the door handles and within the vent controls?

I find my door handle lights are really dim to the extent that you wouldn't even know they were illuminated while sat in the car.

You can adjust the brightness of the footwell lights via the MFD display menu on many post 2005 VAGs. Maybe yours have been turned down to 10% brightness or something? The previous owner did that on mine, which was a head scratcher until I "Read The F'in Manual" smile

I hope you got CAN error free LED bulbs and expect them to start flickering inside 12 months if they're cheap ebay ones smile

Isn't that the Vag-com enabled "ambient lighting"? Footwell lights stay on (but dim) when doors shut. With doors open you should get full brightness, surely?
