You know, the bits that the bulb holder clicks into at the top and bottom...

I can't be the only one who has a broken tag. So has anyone come up with an ingenious repair so the bulb carrier clicks in again?

I've been using bulldog clips for about seven years. Just a temporary measure till I come up with something more permanent. Looking forward to seeing some more sesible ideas.

Thankfully I have not suffered this yet, but have had defective bulb holders which I replaced. May seem radical Ian but what about treating the Griff to a new pair of light units! The plastics get brittle over time and can tend to break. I picked up a brand new OEM pair of lights units, with bulb holders, from a Vauxhhall parts seller, only cost me £38 for the pair all boxed. Worth a thought! Regards, Pete

Pete, I would love to know who that Vauxhall parts seller is. I would bite his hand off for two sets of lights. Pete

Hi Pete, I will dig out the contact details, it was early last year so not too long ago. All the best, Pete

The genuine Vauxhall parts are even cheaper now - find link:

Fancy Lexus Style lights:

A typical Ebay offering:

There are so many out there, why pay a fortune at regular TVR outlets.

Pete,
you are a font of knowledge and wisdom.
I am going to have to pick your brains as I refurb parts of my newly acquired Griff 4.3
...while of course availing myself of your manufacturing capabilities. Currently waiting to see what else you are going to reproduce but better than the original. smile

I missed out on the exhaust tray but if you do another batch I will definitely be interested...

Frank,

I saw them on a Griff @ str8six and they looked awful in my opinion, but each to their own

Not to my taste

The Vauxhall lights readily available are the non smoked versions off the 'ordinary' Cavalier the much harder smoked ones are from the GSi and are like Hens Teeth.

If the tabs referred to are on the carrier itself then I guess they'll be a straight swap but if they're on the lens then that's a different matter.

Pete, that's great. I didn't realise they were so readily available despite many searches. As somebody points out the reversing light isn't smoked but I am sure we can find a way of "smoking" it. Pete

I would swap the lights tomorrow Pete, but I have the later GSI lights with the white lens all the way across and they are very difficult to find.
I stupidly gave away a pair of the lights with the reversing light 'window' but don't want to go back to them anyway as the GSI lights just look more balanced.

Looks like I'll have to get back to thinking how I can sort this without the use of gaffer tape.

The ones I've fitted. I may eventually colour code the silver to orange.

Cheers for the replies, I do like the Lexus clusters, but not as per above on a darker coloured car. On spikep' car, on the orange they look good. Mine is ocean haze, and they might look good, a bit in two minds about it, really...
