some more details would be interssting. further some before and after RR charts
airbox will get you "maybe" 10hp but don´t think so cam another 15-20 and
big bore exhaust antoher 10hp. for some serious HP you need a radical cam
headers exhaust and some headwork done.

Seems optimistic, but interested in how it can be achieved and heard there was some interesting work going on here, with cam timing and a new airbox design etc smile Sp6 are pretty much dead on the money as a 3.6 at around 350bhp. More interested in torque tbh over bhp. Mines dead on 350bhp with the act air box, but torque higher than standard having been mapped by power.

Seems very high just for changing cam timings, remap, changing exhaust and a different airbox!

I have been told on more than one occasion that the standard S6 airbox is very good, and if in good order, is as good as any aftermarket variant.

I think I'll still go for the top and bottom end rebuild of TVR Power's upgrade...

Anybody knows which airbox is meant? There is no picture or link to concept performance.

I also heard that the some carbon airbox had no BHP benefits to the standard one (in the contrary really). Bt this doesn't mean, that there could not be better ones, if properly engineered.

Would be interesting to get more details on the above mentioned performance increases and íf anybody has gone down that route.

The thread isn't so old that it should already be forgotten:

I have RR graphs for the new airbox + a few other mods (which is different from the old thread). I can't share figures as I
was asked not to, but they were significant. Enough to get the figures quoted+ They are from the same RR - pre+post changes.

If Jules is happy with me sharing more info, I will, but it is not yet public what the exact performance boost is, so I stay
mum for now biggrin

When the modified version is fitted to my car and I get the car back, then I'll post some pics. I am planning on doing
a Sprint article on the work once it is completed - hopefully in the next month or so.

Alex - Are the mods on a 3.6, or your Sag? This sort of ties in with Jules other thread about what to buy for £20k. I think his answer is a 3.6 something, as I think there is a market for some mods for this engine. If you do an article for Sprint, put prices in - it's a boring read otherwise ;-)

The air box is for sp6 I believe, so would apply to any engine. The stats I have we're for a t350 I think - without rechecking them. Obviously, the setup going on my car is for my Sag - that is a custom setup - slightly modded from the standard box Jules or CP would supply. The main difference with my setup is it is lighter, and has had the design tweaked slightly for my requirements.

Does this interfere with the warranty you have on the 4.5?

Ok, so I understand, that this is NOT yet on the market, but in development. So nobody really can give their input on this.

@ Oliver: Thanks for the link. I really couldn't make the connection to that thread. I thought this was meant for racing application only, not for street use. Or that it would be to some extent purchasable at all.

I've negotiated various things with him. So, no. What I'm doing to my car will not as he is aware of what it is.

My Tamora has recently been on Jules rollers with the new airbox fitted with multiple length induction pipes. Like has been said before it's still in development, but I can say there is one specific variant I will almost certainly be going for..........the additional power available between 3000 and 6000 rpm is quite noticeable, I won't quote numbers until Jules is happy with the final mapping and because it might seem a somewhat exaggerated claim.

Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I'll be able to post photos of the box and the final graph, in fact if Jules is okay with it I'll post photos of all the different graphs.

Once I've trialled the box, the plan is for Brendan to make it in C/F with stainless steel latches.

As for 394 bhp from a 3.6................that will definitely require more than just a change of airbox.

Yep, each graph shows standard airbox versus each of the variants tested

The standard airbox, well fitted, has never been something that restricts the performance. Wonder why anyone thinks a new box will therefore give worthwhile gains?

Must admit I like the CF ones, but purchase would only be to replace an airbox that was allowing unfiltered air into the engine.

The graphs are more than the airbox though aren't they? It comes down to bang for buck.

This is what Joo was telling me too, to me the idea of about 370bhp would be nice with more mid range.....cant wait to hear the results.

Would there be a great deal of point in just another 40bhp though. I found that generally for road use, I would have preferred my S6 to have had the power moved to the more everyday usable regions rather than from 90 mph upwards - where of course it goes like a bat out of hell. 350 hp is a lot of power for the weight of the car.
