Hi all,

I'm not sure if this is in the correct forum group, but do any of you have any preferred places to go for modifications.

I want to get some real advice on how to improve the power output on my Mito as much as possible. However, I want it all done properly and have everything calibrated to be as efficient as it can be, so that I'm not, for example, just putting a diffuser on but creating extra turbulence and drag because the rest of the car isn't set up properly. I need someone who really knows what they're doing.

Thanks in advance.

In a Mito, which (I may be wrong) is loosely based on the Grande Punto format (T-Jet Engine and so on) you may be worth looking at suspension and brake upgrades, weight reduction, then look at engine upgrades.

Milton Keynes.

With regards to suspension and brakes, that was my first thing to do. Weight reduction I hadn't actually really thought about yet.

A good track/race car always ends up being a shyte road car.
A good compromise would be high end springs and dampers with some adjustments.
Lose some sound-deadening, and the rear seats, spare wheel, replaced with Tyre-Weld.
Good tyres. Yokohama Advan AD08R's are good, and used on numerous cars with great effects.
Don't just remap the engine, get a custom exhaust made with valves to alter between straight-through and normal driving (see Might Car Mods, Nissan S15 episode), see about upgrading the turbo, fit a bigger intercooler, fit a better cooling system, Get a wideband oxygen sensor put in, boost gauge, uprated blow-off valve, then install a bleed valve which can control the boost.

With the extra power you're going to need to have a LSD in it.
You're going to need a stronger clutch to cope with the power, and maybe even a stronger gearbox (see above referring to race being awkward to drive on the road)

So it's all about compromise. You don't want a 300hp Mito that you can only tolerate when at full chat going round a racetrack.

drop it to 180-200. Have a fun car on track, but a useable daily.

Is it an oil burner?

Then a remap may be in order.

Speak to Gus at Alfatune in St Helens.

A long way from you, but his remaps are splendid.
