Anyone have a 2L petrol Mondeo?

On the ecomode thing it says that i'm 0/5 for gear change, regardless of how I drive - car is new to me, I'm getting 34mpg average, even when driving the most eco and dull possible I can't make that average go up.

Can anyone with the same car tell me their mpg? (I've checked the mpg wiki, no figures on there)

Hi there.

got a mk4 2lt mondeo myself and on a normal round town run I am getting about 28-29mpg. cant get the gear change leaf thing to work right myself. on a decent run it gets about 37mpg tops. quite a thirsty 4-pot engine really and way off the figures that ford show. ive also driven the 1.6 ecoboost and on a good run can get about 42-43mpg out of that round town yet again is between 30-32mpg. think the 6 speed box helps a wee bit.

Hi there - until the engine broke I was getting 32 to 34 mpg from a 2l Ecoboost Titanium sport with autobox. Its a 20 mile run to work and then home each day. Get better when on the motorway using cruse control and my wife with the light right foot gets 34 to 36 mpg on a run.

We get 29-32 on average.
Can get 33-35 on a longer run.
Same engine in my Mk 6 Fiesta St gives around 32mpg in general use but it's lower geared.

Bloody hell, in my day my Alfetta 2.0 did about 22 on a good day.
