Buying a new car - remapping a MK2 Focus, worth it?

I'm in the market for a new car and want something with a little bit of go about it. I really want a 1.6 Ecoboost 182 but more than I'm really willing to pay.
With the Mark 2 it seems like its a ST or something rather pedestrian, Is it worth looking to pick up a 1.8/2.0 Zetec and have some simple mods done on it?
With a remap and a some other basic mods what kind of BHP/0-62 would I be looking at??
I'll happily get a ST but if I can tick most boxes with a Zetec for less then that would be preferable.
Assuming the Zetec S has slightly firmer suspension etc??
Any advice gratefully received.

About 5 BHP more than before you started. Tuning a naturally aspirated engine like that won't yield any perceptible gains. If you want performance, get the ST.
