Hi,

I've replaced the battery on my Westfield SEiGHT with a new one. I've taken it out on a 1/2 hour run this afternoon and have noticed that the digital odometer reading is not displaying/has disappeared. The speedo is working fine (which comprises the same unit). I've checked connections etc. and can't seem to find anything loose - and it was working fine on the old duff battery. Any ideas on how to retrieve it?

Give us a clue.

What speedo unit is it?

Should you have maintained some form of supply when swapping the battery?

I'll guess it's a VDO. Mine does the same on cold, damp mornings.

It's probably something to do with the LCD not working below a certain temperature. At least that's what happens to mine.
Or possibly corrosion on a terminal/connector. Mine does get wet occasionally!

It was cold yesterday, I'll re-check the connectors on the Speedo and see if that cures it.

If it's VDO it appears to be when they get damp, a trip to the airing cupboard normally sorts them.
Mine keeps recording and you can even reset the trip, so it just seems to be the LCD connection to the internal circuit board that plays up.
