Well, Google isn't really helping me here. There seem to be a couple of big companies with difficult reviews...

I'm looking for MDF skirting in approx 1.5cm-2cm depth, approx 10cm high, with a 45 degree bevel cut as the decoration. And matching architrave.

Anyone got any recommendations for any of the online suppliers?

Wickes (big packs) are okay if collecting, nice long lengths to avoid joins in the bigger stores.

Wouldn't have them delivered though, too many rumours of them sending out damaged stock. Better to pick yourself.

I wouldn't trust anyone online with it, you'll end up with a few banana shaped skirts!

Not from your part of the world but we had our skirting board and architrave made up to a design SWMBO wanted by these guys http://www.cwberry.co.uk I'm sure most woodshops would be able to make up stuff to your spec in MDF or wood.

I used skirtech, every board was perfect and the pre finish was very good. The only (non) issue was that if you go for a thin routed groove the undercoat doesn't get in the groove very well - a very minor issue as you'd never see it anyway.

A +1 for Skirtech from me too. Great customer service and a good product.

I used www.skirtingsrus.co.uk - massive choice of styles and sizes, and fast turnround.

Also got ours from Wickes, did the job nicely and not too pricey (as far as the DIY sheds go anyway). You may finder cheaper / better at you local builders merchants. Ours seem to be cheaper than Wickes on some stuff and more pricey on others. I'm sure if you had a trade account with them it would be a different story.

Google "chamfered skirting"

But generally I find that the local timber / builders merchants can beat the internet price due to transport costs.

IME Wickes tend to be good on plaster and boards but everything else - if bought in bulk - is cheaper from a merchant.

Selco is the best value, they do long 4m lengths as well. You'll need a trade card though or know someone.

It really isn't - although their monthly special offers are pretty good.

Ok I'll be more specific, it's better value than all the DIY warehouse stores and better than my local timber merchants.

Used 'Skirting UK', straight to the point company, had no problems and MDF was great quality
